ShowLore is a collaborative archive and scrapbook for live concerts. These Terms govern your access to and use of myshowlore.com and related ShowLore services (the “Service”). The Service is operated by ShowLore LLC, a New York limited liability company (“ShowLore,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or otherwise using ShowLore, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who may use ShowLore

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or submit contributions. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you represent that your parent or legal guardian permits your use of ShowLore. ShowLore is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13.

2. A collaborative historical archive

ShowLore documents both the history and experience of live concerts. Information may come from users, artists, venues, promoters, public and archival sources, third-party services, ShowLore research, automated processing, and AI-assisted research. Concert history can be incomplete, conflicting, or uncertain. ShowLore does not guarantee that every item is complete, authoritative, or error-free, and may correct, supplement, reconcile, annotate, merge, or otherwise improve the archive while preserving revision history where practical.

3. AI-assisted research and factual integrity

ShowLore may use automated or AI-assisted systems to locate sources, normalize information, associate records, identify duplicates or conflicts, prioritize review, detect abuse, and assist moderation. Automated systems are not inherently authoritative. A contribution is not false or removable merely because ShowLore cannot independently verify it. Where evidence is uncertain, ShowLore may preserve that uncertainty rather than present it as established fact.

4. Accounts and attribution

Some features require an account. You are responsible for your account security. Your selected public name or handle may appear with contributions. Because attribution forms part of ShowLore’s revision history, routine identity changes may be restricted. You may not impersonate others or use an identity intended to mislead.

5. Contributions

Factual and database contributions

Factual and database contributions include show dates, venues, artist appearances, lineups, tours, setlists and song order, source citations, corrections, metadata, classifications, associations, and similar historical information. Once incorporated into ShowLore, these contributions may remain part of the archive after account deletion or requests to remove personal content.

To the extent rights are needed, you grant ShowLore LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable, perpetual and, to the extent permitted by law, irrevocable license to host, store, reproduce, organize, modify, reconcile, display, publish, distribute, archive, analyze, and otherwise use factual and database contributions to operate, maintain, improve, preserve, research, and present ShowLore.

Memories and other original expressive content

You retain whatever rights you have in original memories, stories, captions, and other expressive content. You grant ShowLore a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, distribute, and technically process that material as reasonably necessary to operate and present ShowLore. You may request removal of original expressive content you submitted. Removal does not require deletion of associated factual records, revision history, contribution metadata, or independently retained archive information.

Media uploaded directly to ShowLore

You retain whatever rights you have in photographs, video, audio, scans, or other media you directly upload. By uploading, you grant ShowLore a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, resize, crop, compress, create thumbnails from, transcode, display, distribute, and otherwise technically process that media as reasonably necessary to operate, preserve, and present ShowLore. ShowLore will not sell your uploaded media as standalone stock content or merchandise without separate permission from the applicable rights holder.

You may request removal of media files you personally uploaded. Removal does not require deletion of associated factual information, metadata, historical records, or revision history.

Rights and permissions

You may upload material only if you own the applicable rights, have permission, or otherwise have a lawful basis to submit it and permit ShowLore’s use under these Terms. Owning a physical ticket, poster, shirt, photograph, laminate, program, or other object does not necessarily mean you own copyright in the creative material appearing on it. Giving credit alone does not create permission.

Third-party links and embedded media

ShowLore may let users add links or references to material hosted by services such as YouTube or Vimeo. The link, provider identifier, embed reference, and its association with a show, artist, venue, tour, song, or other archive record may remain after the contributor closes an account or removes personal content. ShowLore does not host the underlying third-party video merely because it links to or embeds it.

If you want underlying third-party content itself removed or changed, you generally should use the controls or rights process of the service hosting that content. ShowLore may nevertheless remove, disable, or modify a link or embed when reasonably necessary because of law, a valid rights complaint, provider restrictions, security or safety concerns, moderation, unavailable content, or other legitimate reasons.

6. ShowLore-researched and seeded content

ShowLore may research, compile, reconcile, and seed historical information using public and other lawful sources, including automated tools, AI, search services, structured sources, and human review. Public availability does not itself mean material is free of copyright. ShowLore may therefore link or embed third-party material rather than copy and rehost it.

7. Account deletion and contribution history

Factual contributions and revision records may remain after account deletion. Where appropriate, public attribution may be replaced by “Deleted contributor” or another anonymized label. Internal records may be retained where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, copyright administration, moderation, backup and disaster recovery, or preservation of revision integrity. Requests to remove memories or directly uploaded media are treated separately from factual archive retention.

8. Prohibited conduct

You may not knowingly infringe another person’s rights; impersonate others; deliberately corrupt, vandalize, or mislead the archive; harass or threaten others; expose private or highly sensitive personal information without lawful justification; upload malware; interfere with security or operation; access accounts or systems without authorization; evade technical restrictions; materially burden the Service through automation; spam; manipulate the Service through deceptive accounts; or use ShowLore unlawfully.

9. Moderation and corrections

ShowLore may review, annotate, restrict, revert, move, or remove contributions when reasonably necessary to protect the archive, users, rights holders, or the Service. Decisions may consider evidence, source quality, contribution history, community reports, automated signals, research, and rights-holder complaints. ShowLore is not required to verify every contribution before publication.

10. Copyright and repeat infringers

ShowLore respects intellectual-property rights and maintains a policy of restricting or terminating repeat copyright infringers in appropriate circumstances. ShowLore may remove or disable material when required or appropriate under law or these Terms. Formal notices and counter-notices are governed by our Copyright & DMCA Policy.

11. Third-party services

ShowLore may contain third-party links, embeds, integrations, search providers, concert-history sources, mapping providers, ticketing sources, archival sources, or authentication services. ShowLore does not control those services and is not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, privacy practices, or content.

YouTube API Services

ShowLore uses YouTube API Services to discover, organize, link to, and display publicly available concert-related YouTube content. ShowLore does not download or rehost YouTube audiovisual content; the underlying videos remain hosted and controlled by YouTube.

By using ShowLore features that incorporate YouTube API Services or YouTube content, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. YouTube and Google may process information in connection with YouTube API Services and embedded playback as described in the Google Privacy Policy. ShowLore’s use of YouTube API Services is also described in our Privacy Policy.

Availability, playback, removal, age or geographic restrictions, advertising, captions, recommendations, and other YouTube functionality remain subject to YouTube’s controls and policies. ShowLore may remove or disable a YouTube link or embed when necessary to comply with law, rights-holder requests, provider restrictions, security or safety concerns, moderation, or the YouTube API Services Terms and policies.

12. Independent archive

Unless expressly stated otherwise, ShowLore and ShowLore LLC are not affiliated with, sponsored by, approved by, or endorsed by any artist, band, musician, venue, promoter, record label, management company, ticketing company, photographer, merchandise company, or other rights holder appearing on the Service. Third-party names, logos, photographs, posters, artwork, and other material remain subject to their owners’ rights.

13. ShowLore intellectual property

Except for user contributions and third-party material, ShowLore’s original software, interface, visual design, branding, text, compilation features, and proprietary material are owned by ShowLore LLC or its licensors and may be protected by intellectual-property law.

14. Feedback

If you voluntarily provide suggestions or feedback about improving ShowLore, you permit ShowLore LLC to use that feedback without restriction or compensation. This does not transfer ownership of unrelated content you contribute.

15. Internal activity, security, and integrity records

ShowLore may maintain logs, integrity signals, moderation records, and operational reports concerning both user-led and ShowLore-initiated changes to identify errors, investigate abuse, maintain security, and assess archive health.

16. Availability and changes

We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not guarantee that ShowLore or any particular contribution will always remain available. Historical material may depend on external services outside ShowLore’s control.

17. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHOWLORE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” SHOWLORE LLC DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND OTHER WARRANTIES THAT MAY OTHERWISE APPLY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE OR THAT INFORMATION WILL ALWAYS BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT. Nothing here excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

18. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHOWLORE LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO SHOWLORE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHOWLORE LLC’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID SHOWLORE DURING THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS OR US $100.

19. Responsibility for contributions

You are responsible for material you submit and for complying with these Terms and applicable law. To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for third-party claims arising from material you knowingly submit in violation of these Terms or another person’s rights.

20. Termination

You may stop using ShowLore at any time. ShowLore LLC may suspend or terminate access for violations, unlawful conduct, serious security risks, repeated infringement, abuse, or threats to users or archive integrity. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

21. Changes to these Terms

ShowLore may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will provide reasonable notice where required and may require acceptance of the revised Terms before further account or contribution activity.

22. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Nothing limits rights you may have under mandatory consumer-protection law.

23. General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. ShowLore may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or transfer of the Service, subject to law. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any feature-specific terms expressly presented to you constitute the agreement concerning use of ShowLore.
