ShowLore is a collaborative live-concert archive operated by ShowLore LLC, a New York limited liability company. This Policy explains information we collect through myshowlore.com and related services, how we use and disclose it, and the choices available to you.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create or use an account, we may collect your email address, authentication information, public name or handle, account identifiers, preferences, and information needed to secure and administer your account. Passwords, if applicable, are handled through our authentication infrastructure and are not intended to be stored by ShowLore in readable form.

Contributions

We collect information you voluntarily contribute, including concert-history edits, corrections, citations, memories, media, memorabilia images, captions, links, artist/venue/show/tour/setlist/song information, timestamps, and revision history. Your public name or handle may be associated with these contributions.

Technical, usage, and security information

Our systems and providers may receive information such as IP address, browser and device information, operating system, requested pages, timestamps, referral information, authentication events, errors, security information, and server/application logs.

Communications

If you contact us, we may retain the message and information needed to respond. Copyright notices, privacy requests, moderation correspondence, security reports, and other legal or administrative communications may be retained as necessary.

2. How we use information

We may use information to operate and secure ShowLore; authenticate accounts; display and attribute contributions; maintain revision history; organize and research the archive; reconcile conflicting information; assess factual integrity; moderate content; detect spam, abuse, fraud, and security threats; generate internal operational reports; respond to support, rights, legal, and privacy requests; improve features and usability; maintain backups and disaster recovery; comply with law; protect rights; and communicate important service or account information.

3. AI-assisted and automated processing

ShowLore may use automated or AI-assisted systems for research, data ingestion, organization, factual integrity, moderation, and archive maintenance. Relevant content or metadata may be processed by technology providers that perform infrastructure, AI, search, or data-processing functions for ShowLore. We seek to limit personal information provided to those systems to what is reasonably necessary. Automated analysis does not mean that an unverified user contribution will automatically be rejected or deleted.

4. Public information

ShowLore is a public archive. Information you intentionally contribute publicly may be visible to anyone, including your public name or handle, contribution history, memories, captions, uploaded media, and edits. Search engines or third parties may independently index public material, and ShowLore cannot guarantee deletion from systems operated by others.

5. How information may be shared

Public archive

We disclose information when you choose to publish it as part of ShowLore.

Service providers

We use service providers for hosting, databases, authentication, email delivery, security, infrastructure, search, AI processing, traffic/product analytics, and related technical services. Current infrastructure includes services such as Supabase, Vercel, and Resend. Providers may change as ShowLore evolves.

Third-party embeds

When third-party embedded content is loaded or used, that provider may receive technical information and may use cookies or similar technologies according to its own policies.

Legal, security, and safety reasons

We may preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process; respond to rights claims; investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; protect rights, property, or safety; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Business transactions

Information may be transferred in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to law.

6. Sale and behavioral advertising

ShowLore does not currently sell personal information for money and does not currently use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising based on activity across unrelated services. If those practices materially change, we will update this Policy and implement legally required notices or controls.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

ShowLore and its providers may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies reasonably necessary for authentication, sessions, security, preferences, abuse prevention, measurement/troubleshooting, and Service functionality. If ShowLore later introduces technologies requiring additional consent or controls under applicable law, we will implement them as appropriate.

8. Third-party embedded content

ShowLore may contain embedded video, audio, social-media, or other third-party content. Those providers may collect technical or usage information when content is loaded or used. Their practices are governed by their own privacy policies and are outside ShowLore LLC’s direct control.

9. YouTube API Services

ShowLore uses YouTube API Services to discover and display publicly available concert-related YouTube content. ShowLore does not request or store users’ YouTube login credentials and currently does not ask users to authorize access to their YouTube accounts.

Through YouTube API Services, ShowLore may access, temporarily cache, or store public API Data such as video and channel identifiers, titles, descriptions, thumbnails, publication dates, durations, embeddability or playability information, and other public metadata needed to locate, classify, verify, link, and display concert-related videos. ShowLore may combine that API Data with ShowLore’s independently maintained concert-history information. ShowLore’s own classifications, show records, setlists, and archival relationships are ShowLore data and are not represented as YouTube metrics or data.

ShowLore does not download or rehost YouTube audiovisual content. Videos remain hosted by YouTube and are displayed through YouTube’s standard embedded player or linked to YouTube. When an embedded YouTube player loads, basic technical information may be shared with YouTube to render the player, determine playability and content restrictions, and prevent fraud or abuse. Additional information may be shared with YouTube when playback begins. Google’s handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

ShowLore’s policy is to retain YouTube API Data only as permitted by the YouTube API Services Terms and Developer Policies. ShowLore’s retention policy requires non-authorized API Data to be refreshed or deleted within 30 days where applicable under those policies, and ShowLore uses reasonable efforts to reflect removals and metadata changes. If ShowLore’s access to YouTube API Services is suspended, discontinued, or terminated, ShowLore will stop using the affected API Services and delete YouTube API Data as required by the applicable YouTube terms.

If you believe ShowLore stores personal information about you obtained through YouTube API Services, contact privacy@myshowlore.com. Removing information from ShowLore does not delete data or content stored by YouTube. Requests concerning underlying YouTube content or YouTube account data should be made through YouTube or Google.

Use of YouTube content and features through ShowLore is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.

10. Tracking signals

Traditional “Do Not Track” signals do not have a universally accepted standard, and ShowLore does not currently change its practices solely because a browser sends one. Where applicable law requires ShowLore to recognize a legally valid browser-based opt-out preference signal, ShowLore will honor that signal for processing to which the requirement applies.

11. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the archive, maintain security, resolve disputes, preserve appropriate revision records, and satisfy legal obligations. Account deletion does not necessarily delete factual contributions or historical revision records. Where appropriate, retained contributions may instead be attributed to “Deleted contributor” or another anonymized label. User-authored expressive content and directly uploaded media may be handled separately. Information may remain for a reasonable time in backups, logs, security, copyright, legal, or other records where immediate deletion is not practicable or retention serves a legitimate purpose.

12. Account deletion and content removal

If you close your account, we may delete or de-identify account information no longer reasonably needed. Factual contributions incorporated into the archive may remain, including setlist edits and other historical corrections. You may separately request removal of original memories or media files you directly uploaded. Third-party links or embeds added to the archive may remain; control of the underlying third-party content generally belongs to the hosting provider, subject to ShowLore’s legal and moderation obligations.

13. Your choices and privacy rights

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account. Depending on where you live and applicable thresholds or conditions, you may have additional statutory rights. We may verify identity before fulfilling requests. Deletion rights do not necessarily require deletion of information the law permits or requires us to retain.

See our Privacy Request page for self-service account closure and other request options.

14. Security

ShowLore LLC uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information appropriate to the nature of the Service. These may include access controls, managed authentication, secure infrastructure providers, backups, monitoring, and other safeguards. No Internet service can guarantee absolute security.

15. Data incidents

If ShowLore becomes aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will investigate and take appropriate responsive measures. Where law requires notice to affected individuals or authorities, ShowLore LLC will provide it as required.

16. Children

ShowLore is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 may not create an account or submit personal information. If we obtain actual knowledge that we collected personal information from a child under 13 in circumstances requiring action, we will take appropriate steps.

17. International processing

ShowLore LLC and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries in which applicable providers operate. Where required, we will use legally appropriate mechanisms for international transfers.

18. Third-party websites

Links from ShowLore may lead to services ShowLore LLC does not operate. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

19. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as ShowLore changes. If changes materially affect how we collect, use, or disclose personal information, we will provide appropriate notice where required. The effective date above identifies the current version.
